EF Hockey Needs Your Help

Everyone,

Rostraver Ice Garden has been chosen as one of the 10 rinks to be finalists for Kraft's Hockeyville. Right now, as it stands, Kraft will give the rink $10k for renovations. The higher they finish, the more money they receive, up to $150k if they win (and an NHL game played there, if the rink is up to standards).

Free Sports Physicals for the 2017-2018 School Year

The Elizabeth Forward Athletic Department will be providing Free Sports Physicals to students entering into grades 7 thru 12 during the 2017-2018 School Year.

The date for the physicals will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017. All physicals will be conducted at the Elizabeth Forward High School from the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.

A mailing to all homes with students in the above grades will be sent out during the week of April 17th and April 24th. The packet will include instructions, the PIAA Physical Form and the Code of Conduct. These forms must be completed prior to our school doctor administering the physical.

Congratulations to two of our athletes for being selected to the 2016-2017 Basketball All-Section Boys/Girls Teams. Both were the leading vote getters* in their section.

*About the teams: All-section teams were selected by section coaches. WPIAL and City League coaches were asked to pick a six-player team in order of preference. NOTES: Thomas capped his remarkable career with two individual (4, 100 butterfly; 7, 100 freestyle) and one relay medal (8, 200 medley relay) in the PIAA finals after securing two individual (2, 100 freestyle; 3, 100 butterfly) and two relay medals (1, 200 medley relay; 4, 200 freestyle relay) in the WPIAL championship. Thomas amassed 14 WPIAL medals and five PIAA medals, including district gold in the 200 medley relay, silver medals in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay (2), and 400 freestyle relay, and bronze medals in the 200 freestyle relay and 100 butterfly (2). ... Ek finished seventh in the PIAA Class AA diving championship, while teammate Rice placed 13th. The Warriors’ Gavin Guern was 21st. ...
