Lately, I post, but rarely scroll. There really isn’t time to do it with all that is going on, thankfully. When I do scroll, I realize how many people really show themselves and their unfortunate viewpoints on here (don’t get up in arms people, you know you’ve probably blocked or unfriended a lot od people because of it). In the past 12 hours (or less) I’ve seen such hatred and ignorance from SO many people that it’s helping me realize (even more) who I’m glad isn’t a part of my life- and thankfully never was- since they are acquaintances I’ve met through others and we friended each other here because we enjoyed each other’s company at family gatherings. I just can’t tolerate this much hatred and ignorance- it’s debilitating.
Now- while I’m glad that they aren’t actual FRIENDS, it does make me wonder how they ARE friends with some of mine: people who I know to be loving, caring, educated, and wonderful people! Kind of blows my mind, to be honest, but at the end of the day- we love who we love and we accept what we choose to, so the choices of others is not my business to judge.
Fear is real. Fear of the unknown is even more real. Fear of what cannot be comprehended is how hatred, racism, and bigotry are born and fostered when people REFUSE to learn and TRY to understand what they can’t wrap their heads around.
In all of that- I choose FAITH over fear EVERY TIME! If I don’t understand, instead of jumping to a conclusion, I ask questions, and I mean LOTS of questions. So many that it feels redundant and annoying (even to me), but it’s really about getting to a place where even if it’s beyond my comprehension, I’m open to what I can’t grasp, knowing that I do NOT know everything, even if I know a LOT.
AND also there’s, “Judge not, lest ye be judged” along with “Love one another as I have loved you”.
Not my job to judge someone I do not know or haven’t taken considerable time to understand, it’s just my job to love- even those who are filled with hatred. I love harder then, even if it means from FAR AWAY so that they can’t be in my orbit.

Good Morning OLGA Families,
This will be the last post from our beloved school. Please read it through its entirety.
If you purchased a 2020 Yearbook or are interested in obtaining one, starting tomorrow, October 1, they will be available from Mrs. Cymbaluk at St. Joseph the Carpenter School in Roselle.
Jesus said to all who would listen, "I am the Light of the World." Then after giving the Sermon on the Mount and teaching his followers the Beatitudes, Jesus said "You are the light of the world....In the same way, your light must shine before men so that they may see goodness in your acts and give praise to your heavenly father."
A light needs a spark to begin to glow. Your parents and guardians were that first spark and they entrusted Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy to be the fuel to help the flame grow. We ask you to "Be the LIGHT and Let Your Light Shine." We are counting on our OLGA families to make things brighter and to make a difference in our world.
The doors of our school are just part of a building and today we closed the doors for one last time. You and all of the students and their families who passed through those doors are the Spirit of the School. Keep that Spirit Alive and Positive. Proclaim Your Light today and always.
God bless all of you, as you walk with Him and for Him from this day forward.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Patricia Cymbaluk
Principal
Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy

Monday, March 16,2020 dawned like any other day at the end of a very mild winter. The birds were building early nests, the spring flowers had already started blooming and there was evidence everywhere that things were changing. Yes, they were changing but not in the manner that would have been e...

To our OLGA family,
This has truly been a hard week for our community. The reality of our beloved school closing it's doors has hit us hard. But as faith followers of Christ, we must accept that His plans for us are unknown. We walk by faith and our confidence in Him must never waiver.
We are a strong community of faith and that should be our guiding force as we move forward, comforting and supporting one another.
For now, I will leave you with this thought:
"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" ~Jeremiah 29:11
