A safe following distance can help you:

⏱️ Give yourself more time to react
↔️ Maintain space around your vehicle
🛑 Respond more safely when traffic changes

Don't follow too closely. Give yourself time and space to react.

School Bus CDL Hydraulic Brake Check | Pre-Trip Test Explained

🚌 Driving a school bus with hydraulic brakes? Know how to perform the brake check correctly.

In this EZWheels School Bus CDL lesson, the instructor demonstrates the hydraulic brake check used on the training vehicle:

1️⃣ Pump the brake pedal three times
2️⃣ Hold the brake pedal down
3️⃣ Maintain pressure for five seconds
4️⃣ Check that the pedal doesn't noticeably move or lose pressure

This is different from the air brake inspection performed on vehicles equipped with air brakes.

The important part isn't just memorizing the steps. Understand which braking system your vehicle has and know the correct procedure for the vehicle you're testing in.
