Reintroducing PBIS at WCMS!
At WCMS, we are committed to helping every student succeed by fostering a positive, supportive school culture through our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program. Our goal is simple: reinforce our core expectations - Respectful, Organized, Committed, Kind, and Show Up - while providing clear feedback and support to help students thrive every day.
How PBIS Works at WCMS:
🌟 Celebrating Success with LiveSchool: Students earn LiveSchool points throughout the day for demonstrating positive behavior and attending school. Points accumulate, allowing students to earn rewards and recognition for their hard work.
⚠️ Classroom-Level Accountability: When minor behavioral redirects are needed, teachers use classroom-level warnings to give students a quick opportunity to self-correct in real time.
🛠️ Supportive Behavior Reteach: If a student receives 3 warnings in a month, they are referred for a targeted behavior reteach. This session is designed as a supportive step to discuss what went wrong, reflect on choices, and build a plan to help the student get back on track.
How Parents Can Get Involved:
📋 Data Tracking Sheets: Keep an eye out for data tracking sheets sent home at midterms. Students will use these throughout the year to track their attendance, warnings, and LiveSchool points.
✅ LiveSchool Parent Account: See your student's positive behavior points in real time by signing up for a parent LiveSchool account at https://my.liveschoolapp.com/. Parent invites are being sent home this week for students who don't already have a linked account!
📞 Home Communication: If your student is referred for a behavior reteach, you will receive a phone call or letter home. Please take a moment to discuss the behavior and improvement plan with your student.
