A Goodbye Note From Ms. Richards:

This photo was taken on August 9, 2022, just a few days after I began my journey as Assistant Principal at Wirt County Primary Center.

As I prepare for my last day tomorrow, I find myself reflecting on the people who have made these past five years so meaningful.

To our families, thank you for your trust, support, encouragement, and partnership. Thank you for sharing your children with us and allowing me to be part of their lives. The faith you placed in me never went unnoticed, and I am deeply grateful for it.

To our students, thank you for the smiles in the hallways, the conversations, the laughter, and the memories. It has been a privilege to watch you learn, grow, overcome challenges, and celebrate successes.

And to the incredible staff of Wirt County Primary Center, thank you for being the absolute best. Your dedication to students and your love for this community are what make this school so special. It has been an honor to serve alongside you.

Wirt County has given me far more than I could ever give in return. This community has impacted my life in ways I will carry with me forever, and I will always be grateful for the relationships and memories we've shared.

While tomorrow is my last day in this role, Wirt County will always hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to seeing many of you again as I begin a new chapter of my professional career.

Join the WCPC PAC!

Have you ever wondered how you can have a greater voice in your child's school? A Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a group of parents, guardians, and school staff who work together to support students, strengthen family engagement, provide feedback, and help schools better meet the needs of children and families. PACs serve as a valuable partnership between home and school, giving families an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and help shape programs and activities that benefit students.

By joining the Wirt County Primary Center PAC, you can:

Stay informed about school initiatives
Share your thoughts and ideas
Help strengthen family and school connections
Support programs and activities for students
Meet other WCPC families and become more involved in our school community

Meet Our Communities In Schools Site Coordinator!

Wirt County Primary Center is excited to partner with Communities In Schools to help support our students and families. Our Site Coordinator, Taylor Smith, serves as a bridge between home, school, and community resources to help students succeed.

Communities In Schools can assist with:

Family engagement and communication
Academic support and student success
Basic needs and community resources
School attendance and behavior support
Parent involvement opportunities

We are grateful to have this valuable resource available for our WCPC families!

PreK Starts Tomorrow!

The wait is almost over! We are excited to welcome our newest Tiger Cubs to Wirt County Primary Center tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 8:00 AM!

Please remember:

Drop-off will take place in the parking lot near the PreK entrance.
Our staff will be available to help students and families as they arrive.
Get ready for a day filled with learning, laughter, new friends, and fun!

We know first days can bring big feelings for both children and grown-ups, but our team is ready to make your child's first day a wonderful experience. 🧡🖤

We invite all parents and guardians to join us for our first PTO Meeting of the Year on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 3:30 PM!

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about exciting school events, share your ideas, and help make a positive impact on our students, staff, and school community. The PTO will be planning activities such as Country Store, Coin Wars, Carnival, Trunk or Treat, Parent Engagement events, and more!

We'll also hold our PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) Meeting during this time as we review and update:

Welcome to a brand-new school year at Wirt County Primary Center!

If your kitchen table currently looks like a mountain of forms, passwords, login instructions, and mysterious app names, please know one very important thing:

You are not alone.

Every August, parents and guardians everywhere find themselves wondering things like:

"Didn't I just fill out this form?"
"Wait...which app is this again?"
"What was that password?"
"Why does my child know how to use technology better than I do?"

We completely understand. The beginning of the school year can feel a little overwhelming with all of the paperwork, forms, websites, and apps..

The good news is that once everything is set up, these tools make it much easier for us to share classroom news, student information, and important updates throughout the year.

Attached to this message are directions for:

Setting up a Schoology Parent Account for one child.
Adding additional children to your account after it has been created.

Important: You cannot create your Schoology parent account through the app. You must first visit the Schoology website and create your account there. After your account has been established on the website, you can then use the Schoology app.

And please remember:

If you are having trouble with Schoology or any other school app, don't suffer in silence!

Technology can sometimes have a mind of its own, and we are happy to help. Simply send a note, email, or message to your child's teacher. Do not spend an evening battling a login screen.

Thank you for your patience and partnership as we begin another wonderful school year. We appreciate everything you do to support your child and our school community.
