🚀Week 1 at River Road Middle School: COMPLETE! 🚀
What a way to Launch a New Era of Excellence! Our first week was filled with excitement, energy, and Rocket Pride! 💙❤️

We kicked off the year with a Morning Huddle where our scholars enjoyed beach volleyball toss, prizes, musical chairs, a dance-off, and an introduction to our New Era of Excellence!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing community and school partners who helped us welcome our Rockets: ECSU SGA, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., ECSU football players, Mayor Kirk Rivers, Victory Praise and Worship Church, ECPD, Board Member Valerie Bogues, Central Office staff, and the Elizabeth City Coast Guard.

Our staff brought incredible energy and excitement all week long, and we are so proud of how our scholars showed up, learned, and grew.

And guess what? The week ended just as GREAT as it started! 🎉

This is only the beginning. River Road Middle School is officially in a New Era of Excellence!

A special thank you to Pastor Tammy Sawyer and the First Baptist Church family for welcoming our River Road faculty, staff, students, and families to worship and blessing our school with supplies collected over the summer!

Principal Eboni Stallings, Assistant Principal J’Vonn Davis, IB Coordinator Tajima Johnson Lassiter, and Assistant Superintendent Rachael Haines were honored to be present for this special service.

We are truly grateful for our partnership with First Baptist Church and their continued support of our Rockets! 🚀💙

🚀 Rookie Rockets are READY TO LAUNCH! 🚀

River Road Middle School’s 6th Grade Orientation held on August 13th was a HUGE success! Our newest Rockets connected, explored, learned, and got ready to Launch a New Era of Excellence!

❤️💙 A Huge "Thank You" to all of the parents who participated in our parent session, and to Mayor Kirk Rivers and Mrs. Rivers for providing ice cream. Our 6th grade teachers are Fired Up and Ready to Go!

🚀⚽ GIRLS SOCCER INTEREST MEETING ⚽🚀

River Road Middle School is excited about a new opportunity for our student-athletes! Beginning this year, our conference is transitioning from coed soccer to separate boys and girls soccer teams.

To gauge interest and ensure we have enough female student-athletes to field a team, we will hold a Girls Soccer Interest Meeting.

📅 Tuesday, August 18
⏰ 4:30 PM
📍 Health Room in the Gym
(The meeting will take place before open house. Our Athletic Director will be available throughout open house as well)

We strongly encourage any girl who may be interested in playing soccer to attend; no previous soccer experience is required!

This meeting will help us determine whether we have enough interest to move forward with a girls' soccer team and will allow families to learn more about the upcoming season.

Parents/guardians and interested student-athletes are encouraged to attend.

Please help us spread the word! We want to give our girls the opportunity to get on the field, compete, and represent River Road Middle School!

🏈🚀 RIVER ROAD FOOTBALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Good afternoon, Parents and Guardians!

Football conditioning will begin Monday, August 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Grades 7-8 only)

In order for your student to participate, the following must be completed beforehand:
✅A current sports physical on file. Physicals must be on the NCHSAA form
✅A completed concussion form.
✅A DragonFly account with all required forms completed and submitted.

Tryouts will begin on or after August 10th.
