Child Caregiver Job Summary

We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, experienced Child Caregiver to join our thriving childcare. In this role, you will see to the children’s needs, provide an enriching learning environment, and create a safe, compassionate “home-away-from home” for our little ones. To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, with a passion for child development and care.

Child Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities

Provide responsible care for children
Treat all children with care and compassion
Uphold all safety standards
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment
Maintain a professional attitude, respecting family privacy at all times
Prepare children’s meals and encourage them to try new things
Contribute to enriching activities
Lead songs and learning exercises
Provide structure and accountability in a compassionate fashion
Help children with toileting/diaper changes as needed
Design and implement educational, age-appropriate activities
Encourage children to participate in all activities
Help children learn to be “helpers” in the classroom, as appropriate
Remain in constant contact with families of children via newsletters, bright wheel app
Provide many opportunities for children to learn and develop age-appropriate skills

Child Caregiver Requirements and Qualifications

Current CPR and First Aid certifications required or willing to obtain
Certification in early childcare or degree in childhood development preferred but not a must
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a professional childcare setting- willing to train for the right fit
Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times
Excellent listening skills and an engaging demeanor
Solid working knowledge of childhood development
Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must
Fun and enthusiastic attitude
Willing to sing, dance, and “be silly” with the children
Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing
Must be able to lift children weighing up to 30 lbs regularly
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Our Village Family Child Care in Eliot Maine is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and fun individual to join our team

This position will require someone who can wear many hats. Our Village Family Child care is a in home family child care providing care to children 6 weeks – 4 years old. Candidates must be a go getter and be self-motivated while possessing strong leadership skills in order to implement enriching daily activities. The person who fills this position will also help ensure the day to day routine runs smoothly be able to communicate with parents in a professional way.

Safety is our first priority. You will often need to think quick, react even quicker and be able to see it happen before it happens.

We love to have FUN! Must be willing to play, sing, dance, and run around with children.

Must be motivate to come to work everyday
Must have work and personal references
Must be willing to pass back ground check
Must be CPR/AED Certified (For the right candidate, I am happy to get certified)

Hours are Monday – Friday 1pm – 5pm (Can be flexible for the right candidate.)

Pay depends on experience and starts at $14.00
