It’s that time of year again to do our annual blanket drive in memory of Carlie. Carlie was born with an ultra rare genetic disorder called CLIFAHDD Syndrome. Carlie was born July 25,2022 she passed away on December 22,2023. For the first almost 8 months of her life she was between OU Children’s Hospital and Bethany Childerns Center. We met Carlie in January 2023 and were able to bring her home in March. When we met Carlie she had absolutely nothing that was hers. Carlie loved blankets. Carlie was the sweetest little girl that brought sunshine to everyone’s day she met. She taught so many of us what unconditional love is. So we decided in her honor we will do a blanket drive for kids in OKDHS custody. The last 2 years we have collected over 100 blankets each year. That’s over 200 kids that got a little comfort when life was flipped upside down. A lot of kids only have the clothes they are wearing and some have to sleep in offices. The blankets are given to kids in DHS custody at Bethany Childers Center and the rest are split between DHS and the Comanche Tribe ICWA. I appreciate all your love and support for these kids.
