SAVE THE DATE: Our 3rd annual Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, September 17th from 5-7pm at the Centre of Elgin's Heritage Ballroom.

Come and celebrate National Literacy Month with us. There will be resources and materials provided by community wide social services organizations, snacks and drinks, games and activities, and entertainment.

We're excited to announce that registration for our Family Literacy Program for the 2026-2027 school year is open.

The program is open to families who live in School District U-46. Parents enroll in ESL classes and their children can participate in activities at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois in South Elgin location.

Families also receive library services in partnership with the Gail Borden Public Library and parenting sessions presented by local social services organizations.

In celebration of the 4th of July (this past Saturday), The Literacy Connection will be closed today, Monday, July 6th, from 9a - 4p. We will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7th. Thank you for your understanding.

Registration for our Family Literacy Program for the 2026-27 school year for School District U-46 parents and children is now open! This program is in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois and offers ESL classes for adults, BGCE services for children, parenting education, library services through Gail Borden Public Library, and interactive literacy activities for the entire family.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Boss of the Toss Charity Co****le Tournament this past Saturday, 6/27 at the American Legion Elgin Post 57. We had some fierce competition and fun team names. The food was delicious and the camaraderie was special. Thanks also to our sponsors Consumers Credit Union KCT Credit Union and David Im - State Farm Agent for helping make this event possible. Tomorrow is our Boss of the Toss Charity Co****le Tournament! Saturday, June 27th from 11a-4p at the American Legion American Legion Elgin Post 57.

A little rain didn't stop The Literacy Connection team from having fun at this year's Elgin Hispanic Network picnic. It was wonderful to support the two Elgin students awarded the EHN scholarship and connect with the community organizations and people that make this group so special. Also, a special thanks to the Elgin Police Department for grilling hamburgers for us.
