: Stacey Jones. Stacey was recognized by Heather Heinz for organizing the Ellis Middle School Walk-Through.
In her kudos nomination, Heather shared, "Hundreds of teachers, staff, students and community members came to celebrate the legacy of Ellis Middle School. Guests walked the halls sharing stories, flipping through yearbooks, signing a memory banner, and capturing moments with photos. This event would not have happened without the hours and hours of work from our amazing librarian, Stacey Jones. Stacey planned, organized, created and promoted everything that brought all of these people together, allowing us to give a proper goodbye to a place that is, or was, “home” to so many of us."

This June, 17 students from our five U-46 high schools competed in HOSA Internationals in Indianapolis, IN. This competition brings together the top students who qualified in their respective state and country competitions, totaling more than 10,000 students from around the world. With 61 different competitive categories, only about 6% of students place in the top 10.
Two students from South Elgin High School, Amelia Treni and Perla LaVergne, competed as a team in CPR/First Aid and earned eighth place.
Amelia and Perla first had to compete in a preliminary round in December to qualify for HOSA State. At the HOSA State competition in March, they placed second, earning a spot at Internationals.
Congratulations, Amelia and Perla, on representing South Elgin High School and U-46 on the international stage. We are proud to celebrate your incredible accomplishment!
