Last week, 10 Larsen staff members attended AVID Path to Schoolwide training at Hawk Hollow Middle School as we continue our work toward strengthening AVID implementation schoolwide.
A special highlight of the training was seeing one of our own students, Maphiloh, serve on the student panel during lunch! She spoke confidently about her experiences in AVID and the impact the program has had on her growth, organization, leadership, and success.
We could not be more proud of the way she represented Larsen. Her voice provided a powerful reminder of why this work matters and the difference AVID can make for students. Way to go, Maphiloh! Thank you for representing Larsen with pride and showing what it means to Lead Like a Lancer.

Larsen Middle School is bringing home some hardware... sort of!
At our School District U-46 end-of-year administrators meeting on Friday, Larsen was recognized with the "Tapping Through Appraisals" Award for completing the most teacher appraisals this school year in the middle school category.
Our prize? A tap shoe! ๐๐While it may not be the most traditional trophy, we're proud of what it represents: countless classroom visits, feedback cycles, and a commitment to supporting high-quality teaching and learning for our students. The tap shoe will have a place of honor at Larsen once our building reopens from construction in August!

What a special way to close out the school year with staff lining the sidewalks to celebrate our students as they walked out of Larsen one last time this year! Popsicles, posters, music, cheering, hugs, and so many memories.
This year brought growth, challenges, laughter, learning, and countless moments that reminded us what makes Larsen such a special place. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the support of our staff, families, and community!
To our students: thank you for making this year unforgettable. Enjoy your summer, stay safe, and keep leading like Lancers!!

We are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Elgin High School Field House!
๐ก Ceremony begins at 6:30 PM
๐ Students should arrive by 5:45 PM for line-up and preparation.
Families should park on the south side of the building (Maroon Drive) and enter through Door 8. Seating is first come, first served, so we encourage families to arrive early and allow extra time for parking and entry.
Please note that balloons and flowers are not permitted in the gym. There will be time after the ceremony for photos with students and staff members.
We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to celebrating this special milestone together. ๐ Once A Lancer, Always A Lancer.
