Elgin High School - Class of 1972

The Class of 1972 was the last graduating class from the old high school on Chicago Street. Public secondary school. Principal David Smiley. Grades 9–12.

Elgin High School is one of the oldest public high schools in the state which was established in 1869 at 355 Chicago Street. Faculty 211 Students 2,344. Its first graduation ceremony was held in 1872 and its accreditation dates back to 1904. The Class of 1972 was the last graduating class from the old high school. Elgin High School Motto is "Education for all". Campus Suburban. Colors are Maroon and Cream. Mascot Maroons. Yearbook "The Maroon'. Newspaper "The Mirror". Website www.u-46.org/ehs
