Veterinary Technology at Austin Community College The Austin Community College Veterinary Technology Program is an AVMA/CVTEA Accredited Two-Year Associates Degree Program located at the ACC Elgin Campus.

Completion of this degree qualifies graduates to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam. The Veterinary Technology Program at Austin Community College began teaching classes since August of 2014. Our program provides the essential knowledge and hands-on training to prepare you for a career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. This program is fully accredited by the AVMA. Upon graduation y

Meet Roni! She is a 3 year old Staffordshire terrier mix, and currently our program's resident hippo 🥰. Roni is a very gentle girl that enjoys going on leisurely walks, but LOVES taking a good nap. When we introduced her to our kitty pool, she said: no thank you, I'll sun bathe by the pool instead 😂. If you would love a partner to chill with this summer, Roni is your girl!

🌟Come meet Canela and Carla at the ACC Elgin campus!🌟

Canela and Carla are approximately 1 year old siblings that are playful, loving, and very smart. Even though they love playing with each other, these girls are young enough that they could find their own homes with separate families.

Canela is a very sweet girl that loves to play with toys, chase the ball, and take her time enjoying a nice frozen Kong. She is very smart, and with the help of our amazing students, she slowly but surely has started to learn how to sit and stay. She will take treats and belly rubs as rewards 😁

Carla is an energetic girl who loves to run in the yard, chill in the doggie pool, and get lots of pets in between the action. She is also learning some commands, but being a treat enthusiast, she will quickly forget what she did right and get very excited about the treats 😂, but who can blame her? Most of us really like treats too, and are a work in progress 😅

Lando is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix boy that can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but once he knows you are there to love on him and give him treats, he opens up and shows you his real self. Lando loves to smile when he sees you first thing in the morning, he will want to shake your hand, and give you a kiss. He is a bigger boy that is very gentle, but that will also enjoy running around the yard, or chasing a ball.

Margaret and Gertrude are 1 year old bonded sisters that have been there for each other throughout everything that their short life has thrown at them, even having each a litter at the same time! They took care of each others kittens to the point that no one really knew which babies belong to whom, but they both did an amazing job! Now that all babies have gone their own ways, and they have been spayed, they still groom each other, and like to lay in a cuddle puddle. Gertrude is a true social butterfly, always willing to say hi and get some pets. Margaret is still working on trusting humans, but will follow her sister closely even if it means having to be close to you.
These girls need a home where they can be together, and where Margaret can see that just like her sister does, she can also enjoy the love people can give her.
