Our 7th graders took a deep dive underground this week with a trip to Mystery Cave in Harmony, MN!

Students got hands-on with science and local history as they explored how caves form and continue to grow, searched for ancient fossils, and checked out amazing rock formations. To cap off a fantastic day, everyone enjoyed some friendly competition with a round of mini-golf and spent quality time outdoors with their classmate

It was a great day of learning, exploring, and building memories together.

NFV HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE! 🚨🎶

🩵🖤 EIGHT TIGERHAWKS. ONE INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT. A SCHOOL RECORD! 🖤🩵

We are BEYOND PROUD to announce that EIGHT NFV Middle School students have been selected for the 2026 Iowa Choral Directors Association (ICDA) Opus Honor Choir Festival — the premier honor choir experience for middle school singers in Iowa! 🎉

Out of hundreds of talented singers auditioning from across the state, eight NFV students earned a spot. With more than 30 auditions submitted from NFV alone, this year's selections represent a NEW SCHOOL RECORD! 🏆

That's an accomplishment worth celebrating BIG TIME! These students have earned their place among some of the most talented young singers in Iowa, and we couldn't be prouder of our Tigerhawks!

🌟 MEET OUR 2026 OPUS HONOR CHOIR SELECTEES! 🌟

Getting into Opus is NO SMALL FEAT! Students submitted three audition recordings demonstrating their skills through a scale, America, and an excerpt from the festival music. It takes preparation, musicianship, persistence, and courage to put yourself out there and audition alongside students from all across Iowa.

The Opus Honor Choir Festival brings together outstanding singers in grades 5–9 for an unforgettable experience of musical growth, collaboration, and excellence. Our students have earned an opportunity to perform with some of the state's finest young musicians — and NFV will be proudly represented! 🎶

To our eight selectees: CONGRATULATIONS! Your hard work has paid off, and you are making NFV history! 🩵🖤

And to EVERY student who auditioned: thank you for taking the challenge, putting in the work, and representing our music program. That courage and dedication matter, too!

🩵🖤 WAY TO GO, NFV! 🖤🩵
