Elgin High School’s Theatre Arts production of Dirt by Mandy Conner qualified for State competition by placing 3rd at The OSSAA Regional One Act Play Contest yesterday at Choctaw High School.
Two cast members also earned All Star Honors: Senior, Ottis Deutsch for his portrayal of Lloyd Loftin and Senior, Emma Henry for her portrayal of Edith Loftin.
I am so so proud of each of our students for their hard work and dedication to this production and bringing the art of live theatre to the stage!!!
The cast, crew, and directing team will advance to the OSSAA 6A State One Act Play Contest at East Central University in Ada on October 31st.
Elgin’s Theatre Arts students and directing team is honored to be making history by being the first ever Elgin Public Schools’ extracurricular to advance to State competition in OSSAA 6A classification! Mandy Conner

Elgin High School Theatre Arts fall competition play 2026: DIRT by Mandy Conner. Don’t miss this one!!! AUDITIONS Monday and Tuesday, August 17 & 18 at 6 pm in the Elgin Performing Arts Center. You only need to attend one audition and then be prepared to come back for callbacks on Thursday, August 20. ***MANDATORY PARENT & STUDENT MEETING at 6 pm on the 17th and 18th before we start auditions. For auditions, prepare a 45-60 second monologue to perform and then we will do sides (readings from script). We can’t wait to see you there!!! It’s going to be another fantastic year!!!
