As principal of Lords Park Elementary, I am incredibly proud of our school community for earning both the "These Boots Are Made for Walking Award" for our growth in Rigor Diagnostic scale scores from 2021–2026 and the "Seats in Seats Award" for achieving a 94.1% student attendance rate this school year during our end-of-year administrator meeting. These recognitions are the result of steady, intentional work by our School Improvement Planning Team, MTSS Tier 1 and Tier 2/3 teams, office staff, teachers, and administrators who have stayed committed to using data to improve instruction, adapting when needed, and keeping students at the center of every decision. Our attendance success reflects responsive systems, a positive school culture, consistent practices, and families who champion school attendance every day. Awards are nice, but what means the most is seeing the impact on our students. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this work and continues to make Lords Park a place where students can thrive.

Proud of our Lords Park Student Council for turning compassion into action. Through Pennies for PADS, our school community raised over $1,600 to support PADS of Elgin and their mission to provide shelter, support, and a path toward stability for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

This effort reflects the service-driven leadership our students embody—recognizing a need and stepping up to make a meaningful impact in our community. Thank you to our 5th-grade teacher, Mrs. Sharon Berger, for serving as their sponsor (not pictured)! PADS of Elgin, Inc.

Feeling so inspired by our amazing 5th and 6th graders at Lords Park Elementary! After 10 weeks in the Rooted in Resilience art program, nearly 20 students showcased their creativity and growth. Through art, they learned to recognize their thoughts and feelings—an important step in building resilience. By creating personalized positive affirmations, these students developed skills to solve problems, manage stress, and succeed academically. Proud of their hard work and grateful for our partnership with Teaching Therapy. Student success starts with self-belief and community support!

We marked a triumphant school day with our dance party and Walk A Thon celebration, where every student received a pair of sunglasses for pushing through to the final round of the district-wide attendance challenge, proudly taking 2nd place in our network!
