DEFENDING A TITLE. FIGHTING FOR SOMETHING BIGGER.

Last year, the Aberrant CrossFit River Raiders took home the Dragon Boat championship.

This year, we’re coming back to defend it—but the trophy isn’t the most important thing we’re fighting for.

Cancer has touched members of our gym, our families, our friends, and people throughout our community. That’s why we’re raising money for Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, which provides no-cost support, resources, education, and connection for people impacted by cancer.

Our goal is $1,500.

Every donation helps make sure someone facing cancer has a place to turn.

Help us defend the title. More importantly, help us support the fight.

🔥 2 DOWN. 2 TO GO. 🔥

Aberrant has been hard at work this week taking on the CrossFit Community Cup workouts!

These workouts are exactly what we train for — an opportunity to test our fitness, make decisions under pressure, find our limits, and see where all that day-to-day work has taken us.

So far, we’ve seen some great performances, a lot of hard work, and plenty of people surprising themselves with what they’re capable of.

But we’re only halfway there.

2 workouts down. 2 to go.

Keep showing up. Keep testing yourself. And let’s finish the week strong!

Momentum is real.

Our goal is athletic development.

QUALITY BEFORE QUANTITY.
CONTROL BEFORE VOLUME.
FOUNDATION BEFORE INTENSITY.

We're not training kids to become better at workouts.

We're building the physical foundation they need to become better athletes.

🏆 Defending champions with a purpose.

"Cancer has affected people within our own Aberrant community—our members, families, and loved ones. Gilda's Club provides the support, connection, and resources they need while facing an incredibly difficult fight. We are showing up for them, because no one should face cancer alone." — Todd Davis, Aberrant CrossFit

PS- Word on the dock is that CrossFit Millstone has registered with one goal in mind: to steal Aberrant's championship trophy. Looks like there's a friendly rivalry brewing! 🏆🚣
Who else has a friendly rivalry? Whether it's gyms, banks, schools, law firms, healthcare organizations, fire departments, police departments, or local businesses—challenge your rivals to settle it on the water while supporting a great cause. This Saturday, August 8th, Aberrant CrossFit invites you to join us as we pause to remember the 38 lives lost on August 6, 2011, during the Extortion 17 tragedy—the single deadliest incident for U.S. forces in the war in Afghanistan. 🇺🇸🦅

Among the fallen was Navy SEAL Petty Officer 1st Class Jon “JT” Tumilson. JT was a service member, a beloved son and brother, and a loyal friend who gave everything for his country.

We are incredibly honored to announce that Joy Bush, JT’s sister, will be joining us as a special guest for this memorial event.

Together, alongside Joy and our community, we will take on JT's official CrossFit Hero Workout to honor him and his brothers lost on Extortion 17. We sweat to remember their sacrifice, to push our own limits, and to keep their memories alive.

🗓️ Event Details:
Where: Aberrant CrossFit
When: Saturday, August 8th
Time: 8:00 AM (Doors open at 7:30 AM)

Special Guest: Joy Bush (JT's Sister)

Let us know if you'll be joining us in the comments, and take a moment to reflect on the freedom their sacrifice provides. Gone but never forgotten. 🇺🇸⚓️

On 6 August 2011, the shooting down of a U.S. Army CH-47D Chinook helicopter, call sign “Extortion 17” (pronounced “One Seven”), resulted in the single deadliest incident involving the U.S. military during the war in Afghanistan.

🇺🇸 Community Hero WOD: JT 🇺🇸

On Saturday, August 8th at 8:00 AM, Aberrant CrossFit is honored to host a very special Hero WOD in memory of Navy SEAL Jon "JT" Tumilson, an Iowa native who gave his life in service to our country on August 6, 2011.

This year, we're especially honored to welcome JT's sister, who will share a dedication and help us remember the man behind the workout.

This event is open to everyone—members, friends, family, and neighboring gyms. Whether you complete the workout, scale it, or simply come to pay your respects, we'd be honored to have you with us.
We'll also be collecting donations for ValorFit, helping provide fitness and wellness opportunities for veterans in JT's honor.
