Just a reminder ALL fall sports will be practicing after school today. Softball will stay at the MS and practice so they can hand out practice and game gear. We will have a short parent meeting for Softball parents in the MS Cafeteria beginning at 5:15. All parents are asked to attend to fill out necessary paperwork for the upcoming year.

🎒 TOMORROW IS THE DAY, MUSTANGS! 🎒

The first day of school is here! As everyone gets back into the routine, here are the important times to know for Monday, August 24:

🌅 6:45 AM — Doors open for AM LEAP
🚌 7:50 AM — Buses begin dropping off
🔔 8:20 AM — Classes begin

At the end of the day:

🚗 After 7th Hour — Parent pick-up students are dismissed to their lockers
🚗 2:45 PM — Parent pick-up begins
🚌 2:50 PM — Bus riders are dismissed
🚌 3:00 PM — Buses leave EMS for South and Upper
🏈 3:10 PM — Remaining athletes are dismissed to practice

The first few days always take a little extra patience as everyone learns new routines—especially during arrival and dismissal. Thank you for helping us get the year started smoothly!

So grateful for this community! Dr. Megan Porter and crew came in yesterday to donate alpha-gal-friendly snacks. We're still new to learning about this allergy, and having these snacks on hand will be helpful.

🏫 EMS Open House is TOMORROW!

We hope our Mustang families will join us Wednesday, August 19, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. for Open House!

Come meet your teachers, find your classrooms, walk the building, and get ready for a great year at EMS.

UPDATE! Girls cross country practice will be 7:00-8:00 the remainder of the week (8/18-8/21).

🏈🏐📣🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ EMS Fall Sports Families,

We’re excited to get another fall sports season underway! As you begin planning for August, we wanted to share an important update.

This year, fall sports practices will begin before the first day of school, with the first practices starting Monday, August 17. MSHSAA requires student-athletes to complete 14 practices before their first competition, and this year's calendar means practices must begin prior to the start of classes.

Before your student can participate in practices or tryouts, they must have a current physical on file with the school by August 17. If you haven't taken care of that yet, now is a great time to get it scheduled.

The attached graphic includes the full practice schedule for each fall sport along with important information about what athletes should bring and where practices will be held.

We can't wait to see our Mustang athletes back in action and are looking forward to a great season. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

📣 EMS Registration Reminder!

Even if you have already completed online registration, all EMS families still need to stop by the buildings during one of our in-person registration times.

Why? This is when you’ll receive your student’s schedule and other important back-to-school information!

📅 Wednesday, August 12 | 8:30 AM–3:00 PM
📅 Thursday, August 13 | 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
📅 Friday, August 14 | Online registration will be turned off and any further registrations must take place in person.
📅 Monday, August 24 | All students must be registered BEFORE the first day of school.

Already registered online? Great—you’ve made your visit quicker! 🙌 But we still need to see you in person.
