Give and Take
In life, we all face things, good things, and not-so-good things. At one time or another, we need help. We have the power, the ability to help each other. We also have the ability to ask for help when we need it. Asking for help is a sign of strength. There is no shame in seeking help.
Fred Rogers once said: "All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors--in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver."
When we wore the uniform, we worked as a team, helping each other; that was part of our mission. Rogers also talked about this as he said: "As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression."
If you need help, just ask; if you are in a position to help someone, just do it.
