Over the last few years the Betterment Committee has made it their mission to provide family activities within the community as well as provide money and manpower to improve our little town. The Memorial Day celebration in the Cemetery, Christmas in the Park, lunch for the Day of Caring, and park clean up are just some of our activities. We have also purchase and set up flags for the pillars and the pole at the park, the patriotic Elba signs that hang on the lamp posts and other holiday decor around town. We donate to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library ( free books to pre school children), school fund raisers, and any community drive we feel we can support. We also donate time to school and community activities whenever possible. Most recently, our Music and More and Music and More 2.0 was our “thank you “ to our community for the support they have provided us at our fund raisers over the years. Watch our page for future activities for the whole family.

🎄 HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW VENDOR UPDATE 🎄

We are no longer accepting new vendor applications for our upcoming Holiday Craft Show.

We have received an overwhelming amount of interest and have sent out applications to the vendors we are currently considering. If you have already received an application from us via email, you are still good to go! Please return your completed application and payment as instructed to secure your spot.

At this time, please do not message us requesting an application, as we are no longer accepting new applications while we finalize our vendor lineup.

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out and showed interest in being part of our event! We truly appreciate the support and are so excited for November 21st! 🎄❤️

83% OF THE WAY THERE!!! ❤️📚

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of this community.

In less than one week, you have donated $4,146 toward our $5,000 goal for the Richter Family Foundation's RED Express and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. That means we are already 83% of the way there!

We cannot say thank you enough. Every donation, every share, and every person who has helped spread the word has gotten us here.

We are SO CLOSE! Just $854 to go!

Please don’t ever think your donation is too small; every $1, $5 and $10 matters. Keep in mind, OBC is matching every dollar donated up to $5,000, so every dollar you give becomes two dollars for this incredible program.

If a whole bunch of us give just a few dollars, we can close that final $854 together.

From all of us at the Oakfield Betterment Committee, THANK YOU. We hoped our community would rally around this, but the response has been truly incredible.

Let’s get that thermometer all the way to the top! 🌡️📚❤️

Happy almost Fall!
We are a little sad to let you know that for various reasons we will not be having our car cruise this year. 😢
It’s always been a fun event and we plan to do it again next year.
IN THE MEANTIME…
We will be applying for a grant through GO ART! again this year and are looking for ideas that support the arts that we can make happen in our community.
We all love the concerts so they will surely be a part of our plan, but we are also looking for other ideas, groups we can partner with and people willing to help us pull it all together.
Leave your comments or message us with your thoughts.

Together we can fulfill our plans to “Make Elba better, if that’s possible “.

Always a wonderful event.
