The office of Congressman Barry Moore, AL-02, invites you to attend our SERVICE ACADEMY NIGHT - July 15, 2021 - 6:00-9:00 pm at TROY UNIVERSITY- 600 UNIVERSITY AVENUE -TROY, ALABAMA HAWKINS-ADAMS-LONG-HALL

This event is open to 9-12th grade students (and parents) or anyone up to 23 years of age, who is interested in applying for a CONGRESSIONAL NOMINATION from one of the following Service Academies.

*United States Naval Academy - Annapolis, Maryland

*United States Merchant Marine Academy - Kings Point, New York

Progress reports are going home today. We have several seniors failing core classes that are required for graduation. Please make sure to check your child's progress report and schedule a conference with their teacher. We are down to the last few weeks! I want to see these students graduate.

We're two weeks away from our Virtual Family FAFSA Nights! Students and their families can register to receive step-by-step assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students may select from three date options (Apri 19, 20, or 21) and multiple time options (5PM, 6PM, or 7PM). Each session will take place on Zoom and last approximately one hour.

Students and parents* are encouraged to create their FSA ID (username and password for Federal Student Aid) at least 3 days in advance of their session to allow time for processing. On the day of their session, families should log in on time with the necessary documents ready. Please use the attached flyer to promote this opportunity in your community! Families can register at alabamapossible.org/events.

If you would like to play sports in college, please get registered for the NCAA clearinghouse. I just checked, and we only have a few students registered. Colleges can not look at you until you are registered. You can use a fee waiver to pay.

College-bound student-athletes preparing to enroll in a Division I or Division II school need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure they have met amateurism standards and are academically prepared for college coursework.

Seniors if you plan to attend LBW or any college, now is the time to fill out those scholarship applications! Make sure if you are admitted to a college that you are checking your COLLEGE email. They will send you emails about accepting scholarship awards, and if you miss it, you are out of luck. You have 16 days to complete your LBW scholarship application, and I was told today that not one of our seniors has filled out the scholarship application. Here is the link, please get it done, today.
