What an incredible honor for Redlands Community College!

Last night, Redlands was recognized by The Journal Record as one of 29 Oklahoma businesses and organizations to receive a 2026 Empowering Women Award. These awards celebrate organizations that create workplace cultures that strengthen and empower women.

I was honored to accept this award on behalf of Redlands and proud to share the evening with several remarkable women from our campus: Macey Scotten, Tara Douglas, Dr. Rachel Cockrell, Tara Morgan, Dayna Rowe, Annie Pearson, Dr. Kacey Daniels, Kim Andrade, and Dr. Kate Coughlan.

At Redlands, we are proud to cultivate an environment where women are supported, encouraged, and empowered to lead. That commitment extends beyond our employees to the many female students we serve. Through education, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and a strong campus support system, we are helping women build confidence, achieve their goals, and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

The parking lots are full, the hallways are buzzing, and our students are back for the Fall 2026 semester!

I knew it was officially back-to-school season when I left for lunch and almost couldn’t find a parking spot when I returned and I loved every minute of it!

I even convinced a few incoming freshmen to stop and pose with me for a first day-of-school picture. These wonderful young ladies are new Redlands students and Beef Team members!

Enrollment is up in every category, and Redlands is on the move!

I also added a photo of our campus administration team. We are here to support you, answer your questions, and help you succeed, never hesitate to reach out!

On Monday, members of the Redlands administration had the privilege of taking our Employees of the Spring 2026 Semester to lunch!

Our faculty nominees were Tara Morgan, Bethany Holley-Griffith, and Alex Shafer. Our staff nominees were Kim Andrade, Kendra Horner, and Kristin Winterrowd.

We were honored to celebrate these wonderful employees and congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to Redlands make a meaningful difference every day. We are truly blessed to have them as part of the Redlands family!

Friday, we gathered for our All-Employee Fall In-Service, a wonderful day of collaboration, celebration, and preparation for another exciting semester at Redlands Community College!

As I begin my fourth year as President of this remarkable college, I am reminded of the incredible privilege I have to lead such an outstanding group of faculty and staff. Together, we are doing great things for our students, our community, and the future of Redlands.

We also had the honor of recognizing our employee longevity award recipients and celebrating their many years of dedicated service. I am deeply grateful for every Redlands employee and the important role each person plays in our continued growth and success.

Education changes lives, and we have the privilege of making that difference every single day!

Did you know that I teach a Business Leadership class?

The course begins the week of August 17 and combines online coursework with one live class each week on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.

This is not your typical leadership class! We explore real-world lessons about the good (and the bad) of effective leadership while participating in hands-on activities designed to meet students where they are. Whether you are a first-time freshman beginning your college journey or a seasoned leader looking to strengthen your skills, this course has something for you.

There is so much to celebrate at Redlands Community College over the next two weeks!

Tomorrow, our men’s baseball team will compete in the NJCAA Region 2 Division II Baseball Championship in Enid at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. against NOC Enid. We are incredibly proud of this team and invite everyone to join us in cheering them on as they represent Redlands with pride and determination.

Then on Saturday, May 9, we will gather at the Canadian County Expo Center to celebrate two of the most meaningful events of the year — Nursing Pinning and Commencement. This year, Redlands will award 246 degrees and 76 certificates as we honor the hard work, perseverance, and achievements of our students.

Next week, our women’s golf team will travel to Coal Valley, Illinois to compete in the NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Championship! What an incredible accomplishment for these student-athletes and our college.

From academics to athletics, amazing things are happening at Redlands. We are beyond proud of our students, employees, coaches, and supporters who continue to make our college shine both inside and outside the classroom.
