💙💛 The sweetest birthday surprise.

Today, our students stopped by to wish MCVA a happy 19th birthday, and moments like these remind us why this journey began.

Nineteen years ago, a vision became reality. Since then, MCVA has had the privilege of serving children, supporting families, and helping young learners Start Young and Finish Strong.

The official celebration continues on Friday, June 26, but today we are grateful for the smiles, the memories, and the little voices that make this village so special.

At Camp Kindness, our students are learning that leadership is not about a title—it is about how we treat others, how we serve our community, and the choices we make each day.

Through simple acts of kindness, teamwork, and service, they are building confidence, character, and habits that will last a lifetime.

Today’s chant is more than just words. It is a reflection of the values we strive to instill at MCVA: kindness, responsibility, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact wherever they go.

🚔💙 Small hands. Lasting lessons.

As part of Community Heroes Week during Camp Kindness, our students had the opportunity to visit the El Portal Police Department and personally deliver handmade goodie bags and notes of appreciation to the officers who serve our community.

Before presenting their gifts, our students learned about the important role law enforcement plays in helping keep communities safe and the value of recognizing those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

At MCVA, we believe education extends beyond academics. We are intentional about creating opportunities for children to develop character, build meaningful connections, and understand the importance of being engaged members of their community.

Through experiences like these, students learn that leadership begins with kindness, service, and respect for others.

🚓 Gratitude is a lesson worth teaching.

As part of Camp Kindness, our students had the opportunity to visit the El Portal Police Department and personally deliver donuts, pizza, and refreshments as a small gesture of appreciation for the men and women who serve our community each day.

Before presenting their gifts, our lead teacher spoke with the officers about why we were there and the importance of recognizing those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

At MCVA, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. We are intentional about teaching children to be kind, engaged members of their community—individuals who understand the value of gratitude, service, and giving back.

Because gratitude is more than a word—it is action. It is taking the time to recognize others, show appreciation, and understand that every community is strengthened by people who choose to serve.

We are grateful to the El Portal Police Department for welcoming our students and for their continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

Teaching the next generation begins with helping them understand that strong communities are built not only by those who lead and serve, but also by those who take the time to appreciate them.

What began as a vision in the summer of 2006 became a reality on June 22, 2007.

Nineteen years later, Ms. Claudia’s Village Academy has become more than a school—it has become a place where students were nurtured, leaders were developed, careers were launched, and lifelong connections were formed.
