Good afternoon, families!

All Grandparents Day tickets were sent home with students today. Please be sure to check your child’s backpack. I’ve included an example of the ticket so you know what to look for.

For families with siblings at our school, all siblings will attend during the PE time of the oldest sibling. The ticket was sent home with the oldest sibling, so please check their backpack for it.

Please give the ticket to your child’s grandparent and make sure they bring it with them on Friday. Each ticket includes the assigned time and the student’s name, which will help us quickly locate students when their grandparents arrive.

Thank you for your help! We’re looking forward to welcoming our grandparents to our school and having them spend this special time with their grandchildren on Friday.

Grandparents Day is this Friday, September 11!

This three-day weekend is the perfect opportunity to work on your Grandparents Rock Activity! Remember, rocks should be decorated AT HOME with your family and brought to school for our celebration on Friday.

I will have all Grandparents Day tickets passed out by Wednesday, so please be on the lookout for yours.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our grandparents and add this year’s rocks to our growing Grandparents Rock Garden!

Grandparents Day Reminder!

Our Grandparents Day Celebration is Friday, September 11!*

A special part of our celebration is our **Grandparents Rock Activity!** Students should decorate their rock **AT HOME with their family** and bring the finished rock back to school for Grandparents Day.

I’ve included pictures of some of the wonderful rocks our families created last year! Our hope is to **keep adding new rocks each year and watch our Grandparents Rock Garden grow** into a special tradition at Desertaire.

Be creative! Paint it, decorate it, add a special message for Grandma or Grandpa, just have fun making something meaningful together.

**Don’t forget:** RSVP forms are due **September 2**. Tickets will be sent home by **September 9**.

We can’t wait to see this year’s rocks and celebrate our amazing grandparents!

Good afternoon,

We will be sending home the flyer for our Grandparents Day Celebration on Friday, September 11!

Please complete and return the RSVP form by Wednesday, September 2. Once forms are received and processed, tickets will be sent home by Wednesday, September 9.

👉 Only one form per family needs to be submitted.

Tickets will be sent home with the oldest student in each family, and only two grandparents per family may attend. Grandparents will join us during the PE time of the oldest student.

🪨 GRANDPARENT ROCK ACTIVITY:
Along with the form, your child will receive a special rock activity to complete at home with their grandparent(s) BEFORE the celebration. Please make sure to complete the activity and bring the decorated rock with you on September 11. We will be using the rocks as part of our Grandparents Day celebration!

Estaremos enviando a casa el volante para nuestra Celebración del Día de los Abuelitos el viernes 11 de septiembre.

Por favor, complete y devuelva el formulario de confirmación antes del miércoles 2 de septiembre. Una vez que recibamos y procesemos los formularios, enviaremos los boletos a casa a más tardar el miércoles 9 de septiembre.

👉 Solo se necesita entregar un formulario por familia.

Happy Friday, families!

Our Book Blast event is in full swing for one more week! My goal as your librarian is always to get as many books as possible into our students' hands—and Book Blast guarantees EVERY single student takes home at least one brand-new book, whether they register or not.

How to jump in this next week:

*Register & Share: Send the event info to 10 people to earn a prize box with goodies for your child.

*Every Dollar Helps: I know every family contributes what they can, and every bit collected goes directly toward buying books for our kids. With enough total donations, we could potentially get each student two or even more books!

Some of you have already raised $135 and unlocked the full set of 10 books, delivered mid-September! A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed so far, KNOW that any extra goes toward making sure the rest of our students get at least one book.

Congratulations to our 3rd Book Blast Treasure Chest winner! Check out our winner’s picture! Way to go!
