We are proud to recognize and thank our dedicated parents, community representatives, and ESC19 Board of Directors who served on the 2025–2026 ESC Region 19 Head Start Parent Policy Council!

ESC19 Head Start presented recognition plaques to Parent Policy Council members in appreciation of their time, commitment, and service to our Head Start community.

The Parent Policy Council gives Head Start parents and family members an important voice in the program. Council members work alongside Head Start staff to provide input on program planning, policies, services, and activities that support children and families.

Thank you, Parents! and Community Representatives! Your leadership, partnership, and commitment help strengthen our program and ensure that family voices are part of the decision-making process.

ESC Region 19 Head Start is proud to announce a new collaboration with Socorro Independent School District (Socorro ISD) that brings Head Start and Early Head Start services directly to two district campuses - Sierra Vista and Benito Martinez, providing eligible families with access to early learning services within their local school community. Welcome Back, Head Start Families!

The new school year is officially underway, and we are excited to begin another year of learning, development, connection, and family engagement!

Our Family, Partnership, and Leadership service area hosted Parent Engagement orientations designed to help families know what to expect this school year. Parents learned about the many opportunities available to them and their children.

The orientations included important information about
what to expect throughout the school year.

At Head Start, we believe parents are an essential part of their child’s Head Start journey, and we look forward to partnering with you throughout the year!

Is your child still at home because you thought you missed the enrollment period? Good news, you haven't!

✅ Head Start enrolls year-round. If your child is between the ages of 3 and 4, it's not too late to give them a strong start. Many children can begin attending as soon as the next school day after completing the enrollment process.

Over the past two weeks, our dedicated Head Start staff have been hard at work preparing for an exciting new school year!

Before welcoming children back into the classroom, Head Start center staff participated in In-Service Training to strengthen their knowledge and skills in providing the highest-quality early childhood experience for children and families.

Training topics included:

⭐ Classroom Management
⭐ ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment & Attendance)
⭐ Health Services
⭐ Nutrition
⭐ Family Partnership & Leadership

⭐ Transportation

Each service area provided specialized training to ensure center staff are equipped with the latest tools, strategies, and best practices to support children's learning, development, health, and family well-being.

We can't wait to welcome our children and families back for another amazing year of learning, discovery, and growth. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!

A Journey 60 Years in the Making! 🎓✨

Smiles, cheers, and unforgettable memories filled the ESC19 Head Start Multipurpose Center from May 26 through June 3 as families, teachers, and staff came together for the end-of-year celebrations.

This year was especially meaningful as we celebrated Head Start’s 60th Anniversary with our theme: “60 Years Around the Nation: Honoring the Past, Empowering the Present, Inspiring the Future.” As our year-long celebration came to a close, we proudly honored the 2026 ESC19 Head Start graduates who represent the promise of a bright and inspiring future.

For 60 years, Head Start has helped children build strong foundations for lifelong success, and this year, 1,066 ESC19 Head Start children are now ready to embark on their next big adventure, heading to area kindergarten programs!

To our families: thank you for being your child’s co-pilot on this incredible journey. Your love, encouragement, and support have helped guide them toward this exciting new destination.

To our children: keep dreaming big, keep learning, and never stop believing in yourselves. Your future is bright, your possibilities are endless, and we cannot wait to see where your journey takes you.

ESC Region 19 Head Start was proud to host the 3rd Annual PBS El Paso Be My Neighbor Day at our Multipurpose Center!

We were excited to welcome hundreds of families from across our community for a day filled with learning, laughter, kindness, and unforgettable memories. From meeting Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat to participating in fun hands-on activities, this year’s event was truly grr-ific!

We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with PBS El Paso and extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the community agencies and organizations that participated and helped make this special day possible. Your support and dedication to children and families continue to strengthen our community.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and made this celebration so special. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

🐯🌟 Katerina Kittycat made a special visit to the children at Branon Head Start to personally invite them and their families to Saturday’s PBS Be My Neighbor Day 2026 celebration!

PBS El Paso and PNC Grow Up Great are inviting ALL families in our community to join this free, family-friendly event on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the ESC Region 19 Head Start MultiPurpose Center, located at 11670 Chito Samaniego Dr.

Families will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, enjoy hands-on educational activities, connect with community partners, receive free books, and celebrate kindness, empathy, and community together.

Children will also have the chance to create a special Mother’s Day arts-and-crafts gift for the mothers and caregivers in their lives.

Bring the whole family for a grr-ific day of fun, learning, and neighborhood spirit! We can’t wait to see you there!
