A little imagination can go a long way - even at the dinner table - found researchers at Humboldt University. 🥦✨

They discovered that young children ate more vegetables, when they piqued their interest through storytelling.

The actual story from the study was a fairytale about a painter who magically refreshed the colors of a town every night. One day, he lost his powers after eating junk food. He only regained his ability by eating magical vegetables - and that’s how the towns colors were restored.

Amazingly, this voluntary preference was not just a temporary reaction; the behavioral shift lasted for up to two weeks after hearing the story just once!

So tonight, try it for yourself because apparently encouraging healthy choices can start with simply making them fun.

We cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for our experience at the J, Center for Early Learning. Our toddler attended this school for a year, and every aspect of his time there exceeded our expectations.

The staff and teachers at the J are genuinely remarkable. Each member of the team is nurturing, attentive, and dedicated to the growth and development of every child. The Director, Irene is particularly outstanding, consistently going above and beyond to create a warm, inclusive, and enriching environment. Her leadership and passion for early childhood education shine through in every interaction.

The classrooms themselves are wonderfully designed, stimulating, clean, and equipped to foster curiosity and learning. Since attending the J, our son has truly thrived. He frequently talks about his teachers and friends, which is especially heartwarming given that he hasn't even turned three yet.

Sadly, we are moving and must leave this incredible school. It feels nearly impossible that we will find another place that matches the level of excellence provided by the J. If you are looking for an early learning center in the El Paso area, we strongly recommend reaching out to the J, Center for Early Learning. It might just be the perfect fit for your child, as it was for ours. - Collin Clark

Before our classrooms fill with curious minds and joyful learning, our team spends the week preparing for every child who will walk through our doors.

Throughout Teacher Development Week, our educators participated in professional learning, classroom preparation, planning sessions, and team-building activities to ensure a strong start to the school year. Every lesson, every classroom, and every detail is thoughtfully prepared with our children and families in mind.

We are excited to welcome everyone for an incredible 2026–2027 school year. 💙

Our campers traveled to Turkey as they explored its rich culture, fascinating geology, and unique landscapes.
Children played traditional Turkish games including Saklambaç (Hide & Seek), Mendil Kapmaca (Handkerchief Grab), and Birdirbir (Leapfrog) while learning how children in Turkey have enjoyed these games for generations. They prepared refreshing cacık (Turkish yogurt and cucumber dip) in class and enjoyed a traditional Turkish lunch featuring kofta, rice pilaf, and cucumber.
Campers created Turkish marbling (Ebru) artwork, salt dough mosaics, and Turkish flag art inspired by the country's colorful artistic traditions. In science, they explored crystal formation, cave geology, Fairy Chimneys, echolocation, and discovered how Turkey's remarkable rock formations were shaped over thousands of years.
Also a special visit from Insights Science Discovery, where campers stepped inside the Mobile Planetarium for an unforgettable journey through space, followed by Sun and Water Fun! To celebrate another amazing week of Camp Shamayim!
