‼️ Parents: it’s important to ask your therapist what they specialize in. Also what do they have experience treating? Are they familiar with OMDs? Do they know how to identify Apraxia? How about Dysarthria?

Clinicians: are you being honest about your limitations? Do you recognize when it’s time to refer? And are you willing to expand your knowledge and skillset so that you DON’T have to refer out? 🤔

Part of being a responsible and ethical private practitioner is knowing when you are not the immediate answer for the client. Just because you call yourself a myofunctional therapist does not mean you take on every family that walks in your office hoping myo will fix everything. Knowing when and where to refer is exactly what will set you apart from other clinics who take on everyone and anyone so they can bill bill bill 💵

In my 3 day training I will teach clinicians how to identify which clients are ready for myo and which clients need a couple of other visits before they start with you 💝
