Students in AP Spanish 4 had the opportunity to learn about The Bath Riots of El Paso and Carmelita Torres from Mr. Poloteo and Ms. Andrea Galeano representatives of Movimiento ChucanX at UTEP to conclude their Chicano Studies unit!

As part of their current theme, for the last two weeks have learned about basic Mexican American history including lowrider culture, Zoot Suit history and the Logan Heights neighborhood in San Diego that inspired El Paso’s Lincoln Park - El Paso’s Chicano Park.

Thank you Poloteo and Andrea for spending your whole day in the Wiggs Library giving such an engaging special presentation to almost 200 and for bringing us dulces too! 💙⛏️🧡
