In this week’s Weekly Titan Update, we look ahead to the Corn Festival and our Show Choir’s Thursday night performance, share important schedule reminders for Labor Day and the September 11th Teacher Institute Day, and preview Homecoming Week beginning September 14th. We also congratulate Morgan Patten, our September Student of the Month, and highlight several important updates, including school health requirements, the Mobile Dentist visit, the latest edition of the Titan Times, yearbook pickup, Athletic Booster concession stand volunteer opportunities, the Homecoming Parade and Dance, Financial Aid Night, the upcoming ISU visit, School Picture Day, and this week’s athletic and activity schedule. EPGMS XC Runner of the Week (August 24) – Girls

Molly Roth, 6th Grade

Sixth grader Molly Roth is in her first season as a Titan cross country runner and is making the most of it. She earned a Varsity spot by running #6 at our first 2-mile meet at Eureka Lake on August 24, and then five days later she was our #5 at the Bee Bee Invite in Williamsville. Not only did she move up a spot, but she ran the biggest PR of all our Titan girls (1 minute 4 seconds) as she sped to a clocking of 14 minutes 24 seconds on the 2-mile course.

EPGMS XC Runner of the Week (August 24) – Boys

Joey Borek, 7th Grade

Seventh grader Joey Borek ran 3 minutes 59 seconds faster on the Eureka course this year compared with last year, earning a lifetime PR by 5 seconds in his first 2-mile race of the season. He followed that up with a great 800s workout mid-week before dropping another 1 minute 3 seconds in the Varsity race at the Bee Bee Invite in a sizzling time of 13 minutes 21 seconds.

In order to ensure the safety of our student athletes for tonight's football game, our High School Athletic Director, Mr. Troll, went and tested how long you could comfortably lay on the hot football field turf. Can you guess how long he made it? Go Titans!

The EPGHS woodworking classes are putting their skills to work building new picnic tables for the football concession stand! This hands-on project gives students the opportunity to develop their craftsmanship, work together, and create something our community can enjoy for seasons to come. Thank you to our students and Mr. Reutter for helping improve our school one project at a time!
