‘Our culture’: Del Valle mariachi teacher keeps family legacy, musical tradition playing Valentin Gonzalez was just 7 years old when he picked up a vihuela for the first time. Now the mariachi teacher is working to keep his culture and family’s legacy alive.

Del Valle’s Conquistador represented well Thursday night during the Mascot Mania race at the UTEP Football vs. Sam Houston State game at the Sun Bowl. Del Valle High School

(DEL VALLE HIGH SCHOOL - March 28, 2024) - The Texas Association of Student Councils District XI names Del Valle High School Principal, Mr. Ivan Cedillo, the 2024 Administrator of the Year.

This prestigious award follows a process of nominated administrators throughout Region 19. The Administrator of the Year award is designed to recognize administrators who are excellent supporters of their Student Council and all student programs on their campus.

This year’s recipient has distinguished himself through his hard work and dedication to education in various capacities. He has been an active role model for the students of Del Valle High School, supporting the mission of a genuine leader. His leadership has directly impacted students to achieve their leadership goals through community involvement.

Mr. Cedillo has proven his knowledge and integrity of student leadership with the various positions Del Valle High School Student Council has held at the local, and district levels. He continues to support the Del Valle community through all student-led programs on his campus.

So happy to have Ms. Nevarez join our team! Our department and campus are very lucky to have her on board!
