UTEP College of Health Sciences Collaborates on LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Texas Study As a q***r Latinx immigrant, William Campillo Terrazas, a pharmacy student at The University of Texas at El Paso, understands full well the unique challenges facing the LGBTQ+ population during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SPH is happy to share that our student led event “Building the Mental Health Well Being You Deserve” was a success! Reaching room capacity, but most importantly the feedback from students and community was positive and they seemed to truly enjoy the event!

We would like to thank our presenters for taking the time to share their knowledge and resources on mental health. The UTEP Student Government Association for providing funding for this event. And of of course our UTEP Public Health Sciences and the UTEP - The University of Texas at El Paso for the constant support.

Students for Public Health (SPH) presenting to the KIDS of our community about college and public health at the Young Achievers Forum (The kids said that our presentation wasn’t boring! 😅)

Good evening SPH members!! I just want to let everyone what went on in the first general meeting. 1)we had a great discussion with professionals from Smoke Paso Del Norte, which we will be collaborating with them, 2)we discuss a big mental health event for the spring semester, 3) we will be having a health fair event at Texas Tech on March 30, 2019.

Also we have an event for this week, which our president has provided a link through but I’ll post here as well. The event is call Young Achievers Forum and if your interested fill your name out in the link.

The general meetings will remain on Mondays but I have added the following page in hopes that you can vote on the best time, that would be convenient for you to be able to attend General meetings to keep informed and all about what is going on and be able to participate.
