Today, we lost Gloria Steinem.
I feel especially fortunate to carry a personal memory of her that I have cherrished for more than 20 years.

In 2003, I was invited to speak at a women’s conference in New York, and I brought my then 13-year-old daughter, Neathery Falchuk, with me - Gloria was among the speakers.
As we walked to a speaker dinner, Gloria Steinem was coming up the path. We caught up with her, and I told her how happy I was to meet her. My daughter, however, had no idea who she was.

I said, “Gloria, I’m sorry, but my daughter doesn’t know who you are.”
Gloria turned to her, smiled, and said: “Oh, honey, it doesn’t make a difference if you know who I am, as long as you always know who you are.”

That message stayed with my daughter all these years—and with me. Gloria was kind, smart, and deeply insightful. She touched the world with her light, and that light will continue to shine for many years to come.💗

Rest in power, Gloria.

Years ago, my therapist told me something I’ve never forgotten:

Getting rid of something, even though it’s painful, is less painful than carrying it.
I meet so many women still carrying pain from work, relationships, family, and childhood — sometimes from people who don’t even know they hurt them.
Meanwhile, you’re the one still paying for it.

Forgiveness is a gift I give to myself.
It was never for them.

And forgiveness isn’t one and done. Things resurface. You take a breath, and you let go again. That’s how you keep your side of the street clean.

❤️ What are you ready to stop carrying?

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibited the government from denying the right to vote based on s*x.
Generations of women fought for the right to simply be in the room. That fight isn't finished — because presence without power isn't equality. Equality means our voices carry the same weight in the decisions that shape our work, our families, and our future.

We honor the women who fought before us by continuing to make our voices heard and taking action toward true equality.

What does true equality look like to you? Tell me below. 👇

Some of our greatest teachers of love never speak a word.

They show us the purest kind of love—loyal, joyful, and always with a wagging tail.

Share the love and post a picture of your dog!

In the last 2 years I have been surprised to find my funny almost every day with a wonderful husband who has found joy in telling dad jokes. At first I was embarrassed when he would tell his jokes to complete strangers but then I realized they were laughing. And who can't benefit from a little funny?
