Dr. Garcia's students achieved an impressive 96% college credit attainment rate through the UT OnRamps program, based on their final college grades and credit decisions.
UT OnRamps courses are rigorous dual-enrollment classes developed by faculty at The University of Texas at Austin. Students are enrolled in both a high school and college course simultaneously, completing college-level coursework while still in high school. These courses are designed to mirror the expectations, depth, and academic rigor of university classes, helping students build the skills needed for college success.

Through hard work, dedication, and strong instruction, Dr. Garcia’s students rose to the challenge and demonstrated what is possible when high expectations meet opportunity.

Public Charter Schools provide high quality education for students.

During her years at Da Vinci High School, Ruth Mayorga has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academics, leadership, and extracurricular involvement. A Da Vinci student since 6th grade, Ruth has challenged herself through rigorous OnRamps and AP courses while remaining deeply involved on campus.

One of her most notable accomplishments was serving as a Superintendent Intern and Tutor, where she represented her school with professionalism, leadership, and commitment. In addition, Ruth participated in InSPIRESS, cheerleading, folklórico, dance, and volleyball, showcasing her school spirit and determination both inside and outside the classroom.

Ruth was awarded the UTEP Excellence Scholarship as well as the Featured CREEED Scholarship: 2026 Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators. She plans to attend the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) to major in Education and pursue a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED).

We are incredibly proud of Ruth’s hard work, perseverance, and passion for education, and we look forward to seeing the difference she will make as a future educator. Congratulations, Ruth!

Charter schools are a vital part of public education.

They’re preparing more students for college, 21st-century careers, and the workforce of tomorrow.

During her time at Da Vinci School for Science and the Arts, Giovanna has demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving her community. While at the school, she joined many of the extracurricular activities that Da Vinci has to offer, including the National Hispanic Institute, National Honor Society, Orchestra, Mariachi, Choir, International Debate, Cross Country, Dance Club, and the Superintendent Internship, where she learned and developed many of her leadership skills.

Additionally, Giovanna was selected by DaVinci as the GECU Student Board of Directors representative. She had the opportunity to collaborate with other student leaders, discuss financial literacy, and contribute to initiatives that positively impact the community, further strengthening her leadership and communication skills.

Our Superintendent, Dr. Gonzales, has been offering opportunities like these to DV students for the past ten years. Partnerships like this help develop strong student leaders. We are excited to see all the great things Giovanna will accomplish. She will be attending Texas A&M University, where she will study Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience.
