The Irish Spirit Still Hits the Same ☘️💙💛

Before this year’s Homecoming Pep Rally takes over Cathedral, we’re throwing it back to 2005—when the stands were packed, the dress-up days were elite, and Irish pride was just as loud as it is today.

More than two decades later, the faces have changed, but the traditions, brotherhood, and Cathedral spirit haven’t gone anywhere.

Different generation. Same Cathedral. Same Irish pride. ☘️

The Seniors took Loretto dress-up day to a whole different campus. 😭

The Class of 2027 traded in the Irish ☘️ for the Angels 👼 and showed up with their best Loretto Academy looks — skirts, wigs, bows, pom-poms, and absolutely ZERO hesitation. 😂

We said dress-up day…

No capes needed. The Juniors understood the assignment. 🦸‍♂️🔥

From Superman and Spider-Man to Iron Man and a few unexpected heroes, the Class of 2028 showed up ready to save Homecoming Week one costume at a time.

Some came with masks. Some came with suits. Some came with pure main-character energy. 😂

The Freshmen did their homework on this one. 🤓📚

From calculators and suspenders to bow ties, taped-up glasses, and socks pulled ALL the way up, the Class of 2030 came ready for Nerd Day during Homecoming Week. 😂

They studied the assignment, understood the assignment, and somehow still found a way to get extra credit.

The Sophomores took us back a full decade for Homecoming Week! From the skinny jeans, backwards caps, flannels, Thrasher, wired EarPods, and shades to bringing back the legendary dab, they understood the assignment. 😂

For one day, Cathedral looked a little less 2026 and a whole lot more 2016. Some trends really do deserve a comeback… and some might be better left in the group chat. 😭

Last night, generations of Cathedral came together for one of the most powerful traditions of Homecoming Week — The Burning of the C.

More than just a flame, it represents the brotherhood, pride, memories, and legacy that continue to connect every Irishman who has walked these halls.

From those who came before us, to the students carrying the tradition today, the fire reminds us that while the years may change, the spirit of Cathedral never fades.

Our seniors absolutely delivered for Dynamic Duo Day! From iconic characters and hilarious pairings to creative original ideas, the Class of 2027 brought the energy and made Day 2 of HOCO Week one to remember. 💙💛

And yes… we even had one duo come dressed as our Director of Admissions and our Director of Athletics. From the outfits to the details, they fully committed and absolutely nailed it. 😭☘️

Our freshmen traded in backpacks for canes and brought some serious old-school energy to Grandma & Grandpa Day!

😂 From gray wigs and slippers to walkers and suspenders, they fully committed and had campus looking a few decades older for Day 2 of HOCO Week.
