Durante los últimos años, me he ganado la vida enseñando español e inglés, tanto en línea como en persona en una empresa con muchos trabajadores hispanos, situada a unos treinta minutos de mi casa. También sigo aprendiendo más español cada día leyendo la Biblia en español y escuchando muchos podcasts en este idioma. Estudio ruso e interactúo con rusos en línea todas las semanas. Tengo aplicaciones de idiomas en mi teléfono y puedo conversar en ruso, español o inglés con estas aplicaciones de inteligencia artificial. ¡Es un mundo realmente interesante!

Hoy estaba leyendo Juan 21 y consulté el texto griego en mi software bíblico. Hago eso con mucha frecuencia. También consulté el hebreo en un pasaje del Antiguo Testamento. Estudié hebreo y griego en el seminario.

El hijo de mi profesora de ruso está interesado en el hebreo, así que ella me preguntó si estaría dispuesto a enseñarle. Eso me motivó a sacar mis libros de texto de hebreo y a empezar a repasar. Yo mismo soy apenas un principiante en hebreo, pero ella me pidió este favor y me dijo que sabía que yo tenía un nivel más avanzado que su hijo.

En fin, a menudo leo mi Biblia en ruso, la cual descansa junto a mi computadora portátil sobre mi escritorio. Me parece que leer pasajes conocidos en otro idioma es una herramienta muy útil para el aprendizaje de lenguas. Lo cual me lleva a lo que me gustaría compartir con mis amigos de Facebook: ¿Alguno de ustedes está interesado en aprender español? Llevo ya algunos años enseñándolo. Sin embargo, me gustaría enseñárselo a algunos cristianos utilizando la Biblia como material de estudio. Creo que es una excelente manera de aprender tanto español como la Palabra de Dios. Asimismo, deseo enseñar inglés a cristianos hispanohablantes que deseen aprenderlo utilizando también la Biblia.

Si esto les interesa, o si conocen a alguien a quien pudiera interesarle, por favor avísenme. Mi tiempo es limitado, pero me gustaría incorporar clases de este tipo a mi agenda. Si hay suficientes personas interesadas, pondré en marcha una clase.

For the past few years, I've been making my living teaching Spanish and English, online, but also in person at a company with lots of Hispanic workers about thirty minutes from my home. I also continue to learn more Spanish every day by reading the Bible in Spanish and watching lots of Spanish podcasts. I study Russian and interact with Russians online every week. I have language apps on my phone and can converse in Russian, Spanish, or English with these AI apps. It's quite an interesting world!

Today I was reading John 21, and I checked the Greek on my Bible software. I do that a lot. I also checked the Hebrew on an OT passage. I took Hebrew and Greek in seminary.

My Russian teacher's son is interested in Hebrew, so she asked if I'd teach him. That made me get out my Hebrew textbooks and start brushing up. I'm just a bare beginner in Hebrew myself, but she asked me for this favor, and said she knew I was further ahead than her son.

Anyway, I often read my Russian Bible, which is lying beside my laptop on my desk. I find that reading familiar passages in another language is a very helpful language-learning tool. Which brings me to what I'd like to share with my FB friends. Are any of you interested in learning Spanish? I've been teaching it for some years. But I want to teach it to some Christians by using the Bible. I believe it's a great way to learn both Spanish and God's Word. I also want to teach English to Spanish-speaking Christians who want to learn it by using the Bible.

If this interests you or you know someone it might interest, please let me know. I have limited time, but would like to add classes of this sort to my schedule. If there are enough interested people, I'll start a class.
