A Full-Circle FFA Story
Union Mine FFA would like to extend a huge thank you to Bryan Bloxsom, a Union Mine FFA alumnus who chose to give back to the program that helped shape his passion for agriculture.
After graduating in 2023 from Union Mine High School, Bryan attended Montana State University, where he majored in Agricultural Communications. He is on track to graduate a semester early this December with his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications.
For his final graduation project, Bryan was asked to complete a service project of his choosing. He decided to bring that project back home to Union Mine FFA and the agriculture program where he once took Ag Mechanics classes as a student.
Bryan took a heavily deteriorated trailer and after hundreds of hours of work, completely rebuilt it from the ground up into what will be a Mobile Agriculture Education Trailer for Union Mine FFA.
This trailer will now serve our students and community for years to come. Union Mine FFA members will be able to take it to events such as El Dorado County Farm Day, school and community events, and other outreach opportunities to promote agricultural education, share the story of agriculture, and introduce others to the opportunities available through FFA and agricultural education.
We are incredibly grateful not only to Bryan for the time, skill, and dedication he poured into this project, but also to the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who helped make his vision possible.
A special thank you to:
🌟 The Hanebutt Family — for generously donating the trailer
🌟 Big O Tires Placerville — for helping with the tires, including balancing and rotation
🌟 Elite Control — for partnering with Bryan throughout the trailer build
🌟 C&H Motor Parts — for supporting the project
🌟 Montana State University College of Agriculture — for supporting Bryan through his internship and educational experience
🌟 Randy Lund — for sharing his Ag Mechanics expertise, guidance, and support
What started as a well loved trailer, is now a resource that will help Union Mine FFA students advocate for agriculture, educate our community, and inspire future generations.
Thank you to all of those who were involved in creating such an amazing project for our students!
