💦 Back-to-School Swim Day! 💦

What better way to kick off the new school year than with an afternoon of fun at the Elk Grove Aquatic Center?! Our students enjoyed splashing in the pools, tackling the inflatable obstacle course, soaring off the high dives, racing down the water slides, and relaxing in the lazy river.

It was the perfect way to start the school year—with old friends reuniting, new friendships forming, and plenty of fun and laughter along the way! ☀️🌊

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! 🎉

Finding Your Fit: Beginning the Year with Confidence

As summer comes to a close, a new homeschool year begins—and with it comes a fresh opportunity to learn, grow, and create meaningful memories together.

Over the past five weeks, our Finding Your Fit summer series has celebrated the many ways Cottonwood families build community, discover how their children learn, create inspiring learning spaces, and establish rhythms that reflect their unique goals and priorities.

As we wrap up the series, we hope you'll carry one simple reminder with you:
The most meaningful homeschool isn't the one that looks perfect—it's the one that fits your family.

Reflection Question:
What is one hope you have for your family's homeschool journey this year—and what small step could you take this week to begin moving toward it?
Whether your hope is to spend more time reading together, explore new interests, build lasting friendships, simplify your routine, or simply enjoy learning a little more each day, we'd love to hear from you in the comments.

Thank you for joining us throughout our Finding Your Fit summer series. We hope these conversations have encouraged you to embrace your family's unique homeschool journey with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
Here's to a wonderful year of learning—we're so glad you're part of the Cottonwood community!

Finding Your Fit: Building a Rhythm That Works

There isn't one "perfect" homeschool schedule—and that's one of the beautiful things about homeschooling.

Some families enjoy carefully planned routines. Others build their weeks around field trips, instructional programs, community partner classes, sports, music, or time spent exploring together. The goal isn't to recreate someone else's homeschool—it's to build a rhythm that supports your family's learning, relationships, and season of life.

In Part 4 of our Finding Your Fit summer series, we're exploring the many ways Cottonwood families create meaningful routines that leave room for both learning and living.

Reflection Question:
If you could design the perfect homeschool week for your family, what would it include beyond academics?

We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Your ideas may inspire another Cottonwood family as they find their own fit.

Finding Your Fit: Creating Spaces for Learning

What does a homeschool classroom look like?

For some families, it's a dedicated homeschool room filled with bookshelves and supplies. For others, it's the kitchen table, a cozy reading nook, the local library, a favorite hiking trail, or a picnic blanket at the park.

One of the beautiful things about homeschooling is that learning isn't defined by four walls. Meaningful learning can happen anywhere curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and children are inspired to explore.

In Part 3 of our Finding Your Fit summer series, we're celebrating the many ways families create learning environments that reflect their unique needs, interests, and goals—and reminding ourselves that your homeschool doesn't need to resemble anyone else's. It simply needs to support the people learning within it.

Reflection Question:
Where does your family naturally learn best, and how could you make that space even more welcoming for curiosity and creativity?

Maybe it's adding a cozy reading corner, taking lessons outdoors, visiting the library more often, or simply making room for meaningful conversations around the dinner table.

We'd love to hear from you! Share a favorite place your family loves to learn—or post a photo of your homeschool space in the comments to inspire other Cottonwood families.
