Save the Date for the EDUHSD Regional College Fair!

The El Dorado Union High School District is proud to present the 2023 Regional College Fair! Hosted by El Dorado, Oak Ridge, Ponderosa, and Union Mine High Schools, this event is your chance to meet with representatives from a variety of different colleges, trade schools, gap year programs, and the military. This is a FREE event and is open to all students, families, and members of the community. No registration is required.

Date: Wednesday, October 4th
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 pm (breakout sessions begin at 5:30 pm. See below)
Location: Union Mine High School (6530 Koki Lane, El Dorado, CA 95623)

Breakout Sessions:
We are excited to offer two amazing breakout sessions prior to the opening of the fair. These will occur at 5:30 pm and students can select from one of the two below to attend based on their current interests. Please note that these will occur prior to the opening of the College Fair so be sure to arrive early if you plan to attend.
· 5:30 pm: UC/CSU Admissions Panel in the theater
o For students that are interested in attending a 4-year college.
o Hosted by reps from UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis and Sac State

· 5:30 pm: Community College & Trades Pathways (Room location TBD)
o For students that are interested in attending a Community College or pursuing a career in the trades.
o Hosted by Folsom Lake College, Sierra College, Future Fire Academy, and Universal Technical Institute (UTI)

Participating Colleges
We expect to have over 60 colleges in attendance at this year’s College Fair. This is your chance to meet face to face with a college representative from a school that you may be interested in or want to explore further.

4 Reason to Attend a College Fair
1. In-Person Information: College Fairs are an excellent way to get immediate feedback to your questions about college admissions, entrance requirements, and info on what a school can offer you.

2. Free Advice: Many of the representatives that will be at College Fair are also the admissions counselors for their respective schools. This means you have uninterrupted face time with a counselor who may have certain tips on how to improve your college application.

3. Save Money: College Fairs give you the opportunity to visit a large number of schools all under one roof. It may help you narrow down the list of colleges you want to visit, which in turn, will save you time and money.

4. Breakout Sessions: The EDUHSD College Fair is offering two breakout sessions on specialized topics: UC/CSU Admissions, and Community College/Trades Pathways. These sessions provide you time to ask questions and receive a wealth of helpful information and knowledge from the experts.

5. Find Out About Summer Programs/Opportunities: Many colleges offer pre-college summer programs and experiences on their campuses. Visit the table of the school(s) you are interested in to see if they offer summer programs in areas like leadership, STEM, and the arts.
