Meet our 2017-2018 CTE Ambassador,

David Cisneros:

As a student enrolled in CTE courses, I have acquired several skills that might come in handy throughout my life. I have had the opportunity to enroll in CTE courses such as career readiness, sports medicine, and culinary arts, which have led me to become more successful in some areas of my daily life. As an athlete here at Southwest High School, sports medicine and culinary arts have provided new information for me on how to keep my teammates and myself safer, either by assisting an injured teammate or providing information to my peers about healthier meal choices.

Meet our 2017-2018 CTE Ambassador,

Ivanna Valenzuela:

I am currently a sophomore at Southwest High School. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to take Ag Plant and Soil Science Biology and Ag leadership. In these classes I have developed my leadership and agriculture skills. I've had the opportunity to be a part of Future Farmers of America (FFA) which has enabled me to have more confidence. Agriculture is essential for our life. Without it, life wouldn’t be the same. I decided to take these CTE courses so they would help me being that I want to pursue a career in Agriculture. I would want everyone to know that FFA and CTE courses in the Agriculture industry are more than just having an animal or planting.
