✨️As we continue celebrating Arts Education Month, this week we're highlighting the incredible talent in our Performing Arts programs. From instrumental music and dance to choir, our students are developing their skills through practice, performance, and collaboration.

Performing arts education helps students build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and creativity while giving them opportunities to express themselves and connect with others through music and movement.

We are proud of our talented students and dedicated educators who bring the performing arts to life on our schools 🩰🎻🎸🎺✨️

✨For the month of March our CTE teachers nominated The Original Town Pump Restaurant as our CTE Industry Partner of the Month. Mr. and Mrs. Rebollar, owners of The Original Town Pump Restaurant have supporter our SHS Culinary Arts CTE Pathway in several meaningful ways. Their sponsorship of students attending the FCCLA State Leadership Conference helps remove financial barriers and provides valuable leadership and competition opportunities. They also host the annual pathway completion dinner, giving students a special way to celebrate their achievements while connecting with the local hospitality industry.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rebollar for supporting our future culinary professionals! 🍽️👏

✨This March, our Board of Trustees proudly recognizes Arts Education Month, celebrating the creativity, talent, and dedication of our students and educators. Each week this month we will highlight the incredible work happening across our district in visual arts, performing arts, and theater.

🖌️🎨This week, we’re highlighting the creativity happening in our Fine Arts classrooms across the district. From watercolor paintings and sidewalk chalk art to landscape projects and collaborative work, students are exploring their creativity and bringing their ideas to life.

Fine arts education helps students build creativity, confidence, and critical thinking skills while expressing their unique perspectives.

✨️Today, we hosted the very first Unified PE Olympics in the Imperial Valley at Central Union High School, bringing together students from Central Union High School, Southwest High School, Brawley Union High School, Calexico High School, and Imperial High School for a day filled with energy, teamwork, and heart.

Our Special Education students had the opportunity to shine as they competed in kickball, volleyball, and exciting relay races, supported every step of the way by our incredible general education student leaders. The encouragement, sportsmanship, and unity on display truly embodied what inclusion looks like in action. 👏💛

This milestone event is just the beginning. We are so grateful to the schools across our county who joined us and incredibly proud of the staff and students who made this first-ever Unified PE Olympics such a meaningful success. Here’s to many more years of coming together, lifting each other up, and creating opportunities for every student to thrive!
