More spooky trail destinations await you in county parks and preserves this weekend…

👻Ramona residents can explore dark paths under old-growth oaks at Dos Picos County Park on Oct. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. – https://fb.me/e/4Awmgv9cP
…🎃 and anyone lurking about in south county can get spooked by their own eerily lit trail on Oct. 21 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. – https://fb.me/e/3ZyQBEdp8

Both parks have fun Halloween festivities lined up, to balance any harrowing experiences. But have no fear, our scare team volunteers match their scare levels to the ages of their trail adventurers.

that if your eyes were as large as an owl’s, they’d be as large as grapefruits?! Owls have the largest eyes – relative to body size – of any other animal on the planet! 🦉

This is an essential adaptation; their powerful eyes are fixed in their sockets, so this gives them the ability to judge distances accurately and hunt well in low-light conditions.
