Thank you W. C. Griggs Elementary School for hosting Coaching Lab 1 for ARI Local Reading Specialists. Throughout the day, participants deepened their understanding of word knowledge and explored how encoding strengthens students’ foundational literacy skills. Coaches collaborated to plan and teach a second-grade encoding lesson, observe student learning, and reflect on effective instructional practices. We are grateful to the Griggs teachers, staff, and administration for opening their classrooms and providing such a meaningful opportunity for learning and collaboration! ☀️🍉 Summer Learning 2026 Visit! 🍦📚

Today’s camp visit at John Will Elementary School was filled with engaged learners, intentional instruction, and meaningful literacy experiences! From small group intervention and data driven conversations to whole group fluency practice, students were actively building their reading skills while having fun. It’s always exciting to see teachers creating opportunities for students to grow, learn, and thrive all summer long!
