Month of the Military Child
Ms. Taryn and Ms. Erika organized a special welcoming parade to celebrate Month of the Military Child. They worked hard to bring the community together to honor and support our military-connected youth. The parade featured police officers, an ambulance crew, fire trucks, and a distinguished honor guard, all working together to create a memorable and meaningful experience.

The sounds of sirens, the cheers from the crowd, and the sight of our uniformed heroes helped build excitement and pride, making each child feel recognized, valued, and appreciated.

Thank you leadership, staff, and everyone involved for showing our military youth just how much their community stands behind them with gratitude and support.

During the 2026 Unannounced Higher Headquarters Inspection, Ms. Jerri was recognized and coined for her approach to connecting with children in a highly effective way through music. Music fosters emotional development, as it helps children feel understood and secure, which was evident when a youth hugged Ms. Jerri after she sings “Is it me you’re looking for?” to the youth.

Ms. Jerri effectively encourages youth to try the broccoli and cauliflower by referencing a Dr. Seuss book, which helped them appreciate different flavors and textures. Ms. Jerri uses creativity to make learning feel natural.

Congratulations

Mr. Jerrod designed, painted, and assembled the youth play kitchen in our drama room. (The drama room is located in the younger wing hallway for our youth ages 5 to 7.)

He is our Youth Program’s “Go To” person. He assembles all classroom furniture, maintains our environmental center in front of the program and he maintains the garden area by his classroom with the youth. Mr. Jerrod was also instrumental during the government shutdown by maintaining the building’s landscape. He consistently conducts high-yield activities to spark the youth’s interest and is an extremely dependable and reliable staff member.

Mr. Jerrod is an overall amazing asset to Youth Programs!

The Human Body

Our Eglin SAC youth explored and experimented with Ms. Alana the different ways blood can move through the human body by creating fake blood with water and red food coloring. The youth developed a better understanding of measurements and the circulatory system in a fun hands-on way.
