Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages

Founded and incorporated in 1969, the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSCTFL) is a regional foreign language organization that serves 17 Midwestern states through its annual spring conference. raska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The annual Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages includes approximately 140 workshops and sessions presented by world language teachers at all levels of instruction. CSCTFL’s history (conference locations, themes and Reports, Board Members, Executive Directors and Awards) includes all the prominent names in second language acquisition in this country. It has addressed and continues to address the latest trends and issues in the foreign language teaching profession. CSCTFL’s aim is to promote the study of world languages on all levels of instruction. CSCTFL publishes the Central Connection three times a year: the Conference Preview, the Conference Preliminary Program, and the Conference Program, It also publishes a conference proceedings book, the CSCTFL Report. The annual conference, which attracts approximately 1,500 participants from all around the United States and the world, stimulates research in second-language learning and teaching, and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and thoughts about foreign language teaching.
