The EHT Deaf Education Program is designed to support the Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within the district. It has a classroom dedicated to the needs of the youngest Deaf/HOH students. The program also provides Educational Sign Language Interpreters for the older students in the various schools. Cole the Deaf Dog came to visit First graders today! Our two first graders with hearing aids got the opportunity to be front and center with Cole throughout whole presentation. The students learned about acceptance no matter our differences. Great experience for the staff and students.

In honor of Deaf Awareness Week…. The new children’s book, “Alice’s Colorful New World” is a great introduction to Deaf History. It’s been a great learning tool for our deaf/hard of hearing students here in EHT.
