Today is the day you find out your child’s teacher!

Pre-K orientation is on Monday, August 31. Please bring your child with you so they can meet their teacher and see their classroom. Bring their backpack as well, so we can attach their name tag. You can also bring their nap mat or crib sheet & blanket, change of clothes, and diapers & wipes if applicable. It is 11:30-12 for everyone at Slaybaugh Primary, Davenport Complex, Children Academy, and the High School. For Bargaintown Preschool, you will receive a notification early next week to let you know if your time is 11:30 or 12:45. If you have a child in Bargaintown Preschool and kindergarten, your pre-K orientation will be 11:30. Please reach out to Marci at [email protected] with any questions. The expansion of the Working Class Families' Anti-Hunger Act has increased the income eligibility guidelines, allowing more families to qualify for meal benefits. To ensure your child's meal benefit status is in place for the first day of school, please submit your application online at www.myschoolapps.com or return the completed paper application as soon as possible, preferably before the first day of school.

Please remember that only one application should be completed per household, listing all family members. Foster children require a separate application.

School will be starting before we know it! Here is some info about pre-K meals and the breakfast and lunch menus for September. You can add money to your child’s account through My School Bucks, which carries over with them through 12th grade. They do charge a fee to add money. You can also just send in a check in an envelope that says “lunch money” with your child’s name and ID #. The teacher will send home a lunch calendar each month and you will select which meals your child is buying and when you will be sending from home. Breakfast will be free for all students and lunch is $3.25.
