Mr. Thomas's fifth grade class practiced adding and subtracting decimals using his creative "Mr. Thomas Tastery's Math Menu." Students acted as restaurant customers and cashiers, selecting menu items with prices like $5.50, $9.75, and $6.25.
They added items to calculate meal totals, worked with budget challenges, and practiced making changes. Through this hands-on activity, students mastered lining up decimal points and working with money—all while having fun with Mr. Thomas's delicious (imaginary) menu!

Today we made predictions and experimented with different materials (sand, sugar, rocks, flour) to determine if they would create mixtures or solutions when added to water. Students also explained their reasoning and had discussions about the results.

Celebrating the Heart Behind Our School! 💚💚💚

On Friday, the Savannah Grove Elementary staff had the pleasure of showering Mrs. Scott, our Curriculum Coordinator/Tech Coach; Ms. Yates-Ford, our Principal; and Mrs. Phipps, our Literacy Coach with some birthday love!

These three ladies pour so much into our students, families, teachers, and our entire Savannah Grove community each and every day. We are so thankful for their leadership, support, hard work, and the love they show our Gator family.

We hope each of you felt just how loved and appreciated you truly are! Please join us in wishing these wonderful ladies a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎈🎁🎉

Happy First Day of the 2026-2027 School Year, Gators! We had an amazing day. Teachers and staff welcomed students back to the Grove.
