The Effingham-Kelheim Exchange is in full swing!🇩🇪🇺🇸

This week, Effingham High School students are hosting 11 students from Kelheim, Germany. They are part of a larger group of 42 German exchange students currently staying with host families across Effingham, St. Anthony, Teutopolis, Dieterich, and Newton.

For nearly 30 years, this partnership between area schools and Kelheim has created lifelong friendships for students and families both locally and abroad!

The Effingham High School Girls Tennis team picked up their first 9-0 sweep winning every singles and doubles match!

Due to the heat, the match schedule was adjusted, and players competed in 10-game pro sets rather than the traditional match format. The Hearts took full advantage of the opportunity and came away with a sweep!

Today, 30 Effingham High School students had the opportunity to explore the world of construction and skilled trades at the Construction Trades Expo at Lake Land College!

Led by Construction Trades teacher Kevin Hiatt, students spent the day learning more about career opportunities in the trades and getting a closer look at the skills, tools and pathways that can lead to rewarding careers after high school.
