Free Developmental Screenings for ages 2-5:

Wednesday, September 16th
Wednesday, October 21st

Each year, Effingham Unit 40 Schools along with the Department of Early Childhood, offer families the opportunity to discover how their children are growing in the areas of speech, language concepts, and motor skills through FREE developmental screenings.

Vision and hearing screenings are also provided free of charge.

Screenings are held at
Crossroots Church
3200 South Banker St, Effingham

Schedule your child's appointment time by calling East Side Preschool at 217-540-1380.

*If your child is already enrolled in the Unit 40 ECSE Preschool or Kindergarten program, OR the Head Start program, then the students will not need this screening.

**Signed parent/guardian permission is required.

Playful movements and fun breathing techniques, help your child connect to their bodies, increase balance, coordination and stillness.
Peace Circles are designed to help children connect with their communities and themselves. These tried and true SEL techniques foster greater empathy by giving children opportunity with child-centered activities that:

-Establishing norms in a group
-Turn-taking
-Active Listening
-Kindness
-Understand dysregulation & how to regulate emotions
-How to respond, instead of react.

This class is for children grades K-5th.

The girls had SO much fun with Miss Ashley Baldridge from Project Child… she brought her “Magical Moments” with her sprinkled with fairy dust and magic! 🪄🦄✨👑🧚‍♀️🐉 followed up by the tastiest sweet treat!!
