We had so much fun networking while golfing with the local firms last weekend at our annual golf outing! Through the help of the firms and students, we were able to raise over $2700 for American Cancer Society!
Final reminder: Member initiations are today! Make sure you are there. We will have graduation cords for those who have been initiated who are graduating in May.
We will also have t-shirts for members who have not yet received one.
We will also have different prizes and giveaways that you must be in attendance to receive!
Professional dress is required, food and drinks will be provided.

This is the last day to register for the golf outing! Money can be given to Dr. Murray or one of the officers. If you can't find us today you can give it to one of the GA's in the accounting office and they know to hold onto it for the event.
Initiations and officer installations are April 28th. If you met your service and professional hours this semester and are eligible to be initiated this semester you will be contacted by our VP of reporting, Jessica Marley. You must be present at our event on April 28th to be initiated.
Cole Christian from Anders will be presenting at our professional meeting this week. He will be presenting on forensic accounting, which is a different area of accounting you can go into.

Accounting Club is hosting the meeting for tomorrow! Meredith Coen from Grant Thornton will be presenting on "Interviewing: What are we really looking for?" This meeting will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday (we will not have anything on Thursday). We will have an officer there to sign you in and collect any registration forms and money for the golf outing. Make sure you find them and sign in to get your hours.

The Jessi(e)cas having fun at our Regional Meeting in Cincinnati
The deadline to nominate yourself or someone else to run is tomorrow. Email Dr. Murray at [email protected] to submit a nomination by no later than tomorrow!
If you are running for a position, please send a copy of your speech and a professional head shot to Dr. Murray before Thursday. We will include these on the online ballots to assist voters who are not in attendance on Thursday. If you have any questions about the positions or the process, don't hesitate to reach out.
A link with instructions on how to vote will be sent out prior to the meeting on Thursday.
Just a reminder that Paul Ferguson of Emerson Electric is presenting for us tomorrow night. He will be talking about how being an internal auditor differs from doing external auditing for a CPA firm. If you want to explore opportunities outside of public accounting this is your chance!

Sydney Slaby from KPMG will be presenting on stress management during busy season. Sydney is a recent grad from SIUE and KPMG is currently the only Big 4 firm that actively recruits here, so come out and learn what it's like to work in the Big 4!

Thursday is also the last day to turn in money for Edison's on March 25th!
The SIUE Bursar's Office and Financial Aid Office are coming to present on how to plan your expenses and budget your money during college, which can also be applied to other parts of your life. This week's meeting is an open event, so I recommend coming early to make sure you get a seat. It is also a GBA 301 eligible activity, so if you bring the attendance paper we will sign it for you. The event is scheduled until 6:30, so if you are really wanting to come but have class at 6:00, you can sneak out early. If you do stay the whole time, we will have you sign out at the end so you can get the extra time towards your professional hours.
